They were easy to cut with a utility knife and easy to stick up to my oddly shaped moldings around my windows (new windows, old decor. YIKES). Also, if you're savvy with the widths, you can cut 2 smaller windows out of these 48" shades. I was able to cover 8 windows with the 6 shades in the box. Woot! As for the adhesive staying, I cleaned each surface before affixing the shades. We'll see how long they stay put. I know these are temporary shades, but I'm hoping they'll last a year or so. I just moved into a house with tons of windows and did not want to force myself into purchasing window treatments quickly. These shades provide privacy and a little bit of insulation too. The problem was that they wouldn't be in a for a few days after we moved in. In the meantime, I ordered these because they are cheap and would cover the windows. I was surprised at how well they did the job, and I actually liked them!!! For a room off to the side, these would be perfect. I don't think I would hang them in the living room, but for elsewhere, they are fine. After I hung the blinds we ordered (levolors), I took these down and moved them to other windows. They moved fairly well, but the top part kind of ripped a little on some of them. I'm sure these aren't made to be moved, and at hte price, seem pretty disposable. It's just temporary for now, and even when moved, they do a good job and look great! |
